Bobadilla and Matmour back on board

With the away game in Mainz not until Sunday (1530 CET), Borussia have a day longer than usual to prepare for their next fixture.

Michael Frontzeck began the week's training by sending his players on a lengthy recovery run around the BORUSSIA PARK complex this morning. Among them was Raul Bobadilla, who had had to come in for treatment on a tight thigh muscle on both Sunday and Monday. As things stand, the Argentine striker looks set to be available for the trip to Mainz. The same applies to Karim Matmour, who returned fit and well from the Africa Cup in Angola yesterday, arrived at the BORUSSIA PARK this lunchtime and then went for a run before undergoing treatment.

Frontzeck will take pleasure in the fact that the injury list now has just four names on it. Gal Alberman could be the next to be taken off it. The Israeli has almost completed his rehab following a heel operation and is undergoing a personal training programme with physiotherapist Andreas Bluhm this week. If everything goes to plan, he may be able to resume full training next week. Paul Stalteri (MCL sprain) is likely to need at least a week longer, while Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker (foot tendonitis) is still some way off. Christian Dorda is in rehab after rupturing a patellar tendon, though his season is over in any case.

The players will train twice at the BORUSSIA PARK on both Wednesday and Thursday (1000 and 1600). A recovery session will be held at 10 am on Friday, and Saturday's final pre-match session will take place behind closed doors as usual.
