Bradley joins Borussia

Borussia new boy Michael Bradley is experiencing a hectic few days that will take him to the Netherlands, Germany, Cuba, the US and back to Germany again.

Bradley, 21, completed his move to the club today after coming through a medical on what was only a flying visit to the BORUSSIA PARK. This because the American, who joins Borussia from Dutch outfit SC Heerenveen, is preparing to link up with the US national team. The US boys face Cuba in a World Cup qualifier in Havana on Saturday before playing host to Trinidad and Tobago in Bridgeview on Wednesday.

Borussia had been watching Bradley for several months and he talked knowledgably about his new club when he was unveiled to the press in Mönchengladbach earlier today. "Borussia are a club with a great history and great fans", he said. Having watched lots of games on television and spoken to US team mates Steven Cherundolo and Kasey Keller as well as Borussia's Canadian centre forward Rob Friend, he knows all about Borussia and the Bundesliga. "I asked Rob lots of questions about the players, the fans and the club as a whole and I only got positive answers", he added. The two players know each other from their time at SC Heerenveen.

In signing Bradley Borussia have bought themselves a versatile midfielder who showed he has an eye for goal last season, scoring 15 goals in 33 league appearances. "Michael's an accomplished passer of the ball and an excellent link-up player who also does a lot of running off the ball. He's also a threat with shots from outside the penalty area", said Borussia boss Jos Luhukay.

Despite his young age Bradley has a wealth of experience, having played 22 times for his country, most recently at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
