Few changes on the cards
"I won't be changing much", said Borussia coach Michael Frontzeck at today's press conference ahead of Saturday's visit of Schalke 04 (1830 CET). There are likely to be some changes to the squad, however.
After a string of good performances there was "no real reason to change anything", Frontzeck told journalists. "I do have options in my squad, though, and I'll be giving them plenty of thought in the run-up to Saturday", he added.
One of these options could be Raul Bobadilla. The Argentine striker has recovered from a thigh strain and resumed full training on Tuesday. "If he comes through the final two training sessions without any problems, he'll be in my 18-man squad", said Frontzeck. He declined to say whether Bobadilla would start, however, which means he could stick with Friend and Matmour as his strike pairing. Michael Bradley, who has been hampered by a bruised calf this week, is also likely to feature.
"Schalke are the best away side in the league at the moment, so we have a tough task in front of us", Frontzeck continued. Nevertheless, his side's recent performances have been good enough to ensure he is not overly worried. "Things are going well for us at the moment and we want to keep it going for as long as possible", he said. "If we keep our shape against Schalke, stay patient and refuse to be drawn in, we can get something on Saturday."
