Borussia to donate gate receipts for earthquake victims

Borussia Mönchengladbach are to participate in the aid effort for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti by making a donation.

Borussia have agreed to donate the receipts from all the tickets sold from Tuesday (19 Jan) for the forthcoming home game against Werder Bremen on Saturday, 30 January. The idea was unveiled at a television gala staged by German broadcaster ZDF and the Bild newspaper on Tuesday evening.

Some 44,000 tickets had been sold for the visit of Bremen by Tuesday. The BORUSSIA PARK has a capacity of 54,057. "Our aim is to sell out the stadium, in other words to sell another 10,000 tickets, which would equate to a donation of around 200,000 euros", said president Rolf Königs. So any Borussia supporter who buys a ticket for the Bremen game from Tuesday will not only be supporting the club, but also the earthquake victims in Haiti.

It is therefore a unique and simple way for all Borussia fans to contribute. Every cent raised will go directly to the earthquake victims, with a match ticket the reward for the good deed. So come on Borussia fans, get yourself a ticket for the Bremen game and help the victims of this catastrophic earthquake!

Tickets are available on the Internet, at the three fan shops (BORUSSIA PARK, Marienhof and Shopping Galerie Rheydt) and, in Germany, from the ticket hotline on 01805 – 181900 (14 cents/min from a landline phone/mobile charges may vary).
