Foals to begin quarantine training camp on Wednesday

The Foals began preparations for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with VfB Stuttgart (15:30 CEST) on Tuesday, with almost a full squad available. They will get started with their quarantine training camp tomorrow.

It’s the penultimate week of the season and the Foals got back to work on Tuesday. With the exception of Torben Müsel (rehab training) and Mamadou Doucouré (torn Achilles tendon), head coach Marco Rose had all of his players out on the pitch for training. The 6-0 defeat last weekend was obviously fresh in the memory, but the upcoming clash with VfB Stuttgart (Saturday, 15:30 CEST) is of far greater concern to those at the club. “We will have to show a completely different side to us to be successful again,” said Rose.

The players will return home this evening before the DFL-enforced quarantine training camp begins on Wednesday. The Foals will spend eleven days at the H4 Hotel at BORUSSIA PARK, staying together until after the final match of the season against Werder Bremen (Saturday, 22nd May at 15:30 CEST). The aim is to reduce the players’ contact with others and to further reduce the risk of infection. The measures were already implemented successfully after play was resumed at the back end of last season.

The H4 Hotel is reopening exclusively for the players’ accommodation. “By accommodating the players at BORUSSIA-PARK, they will have no contact with others. We can do everything in one place, from catering to training, and we can abide by the highest hygiene standards, said team co-ordinator Christofer Heimeroth.

Denis Zakaria and co. will spend eleven days at the H4 Hotel.
