Stindl out of action with knee ligament strain

The Foals will be without Lars Stindl for the remainder of their time at the Harsewinkel-Marienfeld training camp, after the captain sustained a knee ligament strain.  

Lars Stindl, who will continue to captain Borussia during the 2021/22 season, has strained a ligament in his knee, as diagnosed following an MRI scan on Tuesday. The 32-year-old will therefore be sitting out the team training sessions at the camp in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld. Stindl will also miss this Saturday’s friendly against FC Metz, but will start returning to normal training over the course of the following week.

Matthias Ginter played the full 90 minutes in Germany’s 4-2 win over Portugal at EURO 2020 – their first victory of the tournament. France drew 1-1 in Budapest against Hungary without Marcus Thuram.

Bénes makes EUROs debut in defeat for Slovakia

Slovakia narrowly lost 1-0 to Sweden in their second UEFA EURO 2020 group stage game on Friday afternoon (18th June). László Bénes was subbed on in the final 15 minutes to make his European Championship debut.

Bénes and Slovakia to face Sweden

László Bénes is set to take on Sweden with the Slovakia national team in St. Petersburg this afternoon (Friday, 15:00 CEST). Slovakia won their opening game 2-1 against Poland.
