Match facts ahead of #BMGDSC

Everything you need to know ahead of our home fixture against Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday (19:30 CEST).

Spectators

  • Borussia will once again be allowed 25,000 spectators in the ground, according to Corona regulations.
  • Almost 22,500 of the available tickets are sold out, including all 5,000 standing tickets, and there will also be around 1,500 Bielefeld fans at BORUSSIA-PARK.

Head-to-head record

  • This is the 33rd Bundesliga meeting between the Foals and Arminia. Borussia don’t have a better record against any other current top-flight side (21W, 6D, 5L).
  • The Foals’ record at home is even better, having won 12, drawn three and lost only once. The only home defeat came in 1971 (2-0) in the very first meeting at the Bökelberg.
  • Borussia have scored 65 goals in the previous 32 meetings, while Arminia have scored 33. That works out to 3.07 goals per game.
  • The last time Arminia beat the Foals in the Bundesliga was in March 2003, with a final score of 4-1 thanks to a Momo Diabang hat-trick. Bielefeld have only picked up two points in the ten meetings since then.

Statistics – presented by UNIBET

  • Both of the Foals’ goals this season have come from counterattacks. Only Borussia Dortmund have scored more on the counter (3).
  • Borussia had the best record from set-pieces in the league last year, but after three games have yet to score from a dead ball situation this season.
  • Borussia are hoping to see Breel Embolo back in the side, after he was injured in the quarter-finals of the European Championships. Last season, the attacker scored three goals against Bielefeld – one at home (1-0) and two on the road (5-0).
  • In Armenia’s first three fixtures, their goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has touched the ball more than any other player (62 per game). For Borussia, full-back Joe Scally has been on the ball most so far (78 times per game).
  • Bielefeld are undefeated in their last three Bundesliga away games – a new club record. They would better that record by avoiding defeat at BORUSSIA-PARK.
  • Arminia have been involved in the most 50-50 challenges in the Bundesliga: 691 after three games, averaging out to 230 per match. The Foals have been involved in 212 per game on average, which is the third highest in the league.
