Hofmann is Borussia’s player of the month for May

Borussia fans have voted Jonas Hofmann as their Player of the Month for May, presented by Cichon Personalmanagement. The midfielder won the FohlenApp vote ahead of Breel Embolo and Alassane Plea.

Jonas Hofmann has won the vote for Borussia’s Player of the Month for May. Around 68% of the votes were for the 29-year-old, coming in well ahead of his two fellow nominees in Breel Embolo (18%) and Alassane Plea (14%). It is Hofmann’s second Player of the Month award this season – the Germany international was also recognised as the Foals’ best player for November.

The attacking midfielder won the vote thanks in large part to his fine performances in home wins against RB Leipzig (3-1) and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (5-1). ‘Hoffi’ scored a brace in each of those games, bring his tally for Bundesliga braces to six – he has scored each of them at BORUSSIA-PARK.

Hofmann was efficiency personified in our game against RB Leipzig. He only had two shots on goal over the course of the game, but both ended up in the back of the net. In our season finale against Hoffenheim, he scored a goal just before half time to make it 3-1, before putting the icing on the cake with the Foals fifth goal. The 29-year-old netted 12 goals this season, his best-ever scoring season. “I’m delighted to  have got so many goals this season,” said our number 23.
