Borussia to take part in the “Cup der Traditionen” in Duisburg

As part of pre-season preparations, Borussia will take part in a mini-tournament in Duisburg on July 17th. The “schauinsland reisen Cup der Traditionen” will see the Foals play hosts MSV Duisburg and Athletic Bilbao.

There have been two more friendlies added to Borussia’s pre-season program, both of which will last 45 minutes. The Foals will travel to Duisburg’s Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena on Sunday July 17th, to kick off the mini-tournament against hosts MSV Duisburg (16:00 CEST). The Zebras endured a tough 2021/22 season in the 3. Liga, having a campaign troubled with relegation worries. After securing survival late on in the season, the Duisburg side will look to move into calmer territory this time round.

The second game of the day for Daniel Farke’s team, straight after the first, will see them face a real top side in Athletic Bilbao (17:00 CEST). An historic Basque-country club, who have never been relegated from Spain’s top footballing division since its formation in 1928, Athletic finished the 2021/22 La Liga season in eighth place. The final match of the day will see Duisburg take on Athletic at 18:00 CEST, an hour before the trophy is awarded.

Blocks Q, R and S at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena have been reserved for Foals fans, and tickets wil be available for the day from the start of July in our online ticket shop. A seated ticket will cost 20 Euro, whilst a place in the standing terrace will cost 10 Euro – tickets for children under 18 years old will be half price for both areas.
