Borussia to open 2021/22 Bundesliga season against Bayern München

The DFL have released the schedule for the upcoming Bundesliga season. Borussia will begin their 2021/22 campaign at home against record champions FC Bayern München on Friday, 13th August at 20:30 CEST.

Following the game against the defending champions, the Foals will play back-to-back away games against Bayer 04 Leverkusen (20th-22nd August) and 1. FC Union Berlin (27th-29th August). After the first international break of the season, the Foals will return home to face Arminia Bielefeld (10th-12th September). 

The derby against 1. FC Köln will take place on matchday 13 (26th-28th November) in Cologne. The Foals will come up against Borussia Dortmund at home on matchday 6 already (24th-26th September). 

The first half of the season will end with a double game week in December, during which the Foals will play away at RB Leipzig (10th-12th December) and TSG Hoffenheim (17th-19th December). Borussia will face Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek (14th/15th December). 

The second half of the season will get underway the second weekend in January (7th-9th January) away at FC Bayern. Borussia will end the season at home against TSG Hoffenheim on 14th May.

Foals prepare for home game against Union Berlin

Borussia reports second-highest turnover for 2023

During the annual general meeting for club members on Monday, 22nd March, Borussia chief executive Stephan Schippers gave his financial report for 2023. The club’s approximately €199.8 million of turnover is around €22 million more than last year.
