4-0 win against Bielefeld: Foals earn their second win of training camp

Borussia beat Arminia Bielefeld 4-0 at the FohlenPlatz at the BORUSSIA-PARK and, in doing so, clinched their second win in as many friendlies during their training camp. The goals for Foals were scored by Nathan Ngoumou, Marcus Thuram, Hannes Wolf and Manu Koné.

The Foals had more possession from the start, but it was the visitors from Bielefeld who had the first good chance to open the scoring. After that, however, Borussia took increasing control of the game and combined well up front. After a series of squandered chances, Nathan Ngoumou put the Foals ahead after just under half an hour of play. After the break, during which head coach Daniel Farke made nine changes, the Foals continued to dominate and converted that dominance into more goals in the final third. First Marcus Thuram and Hannes Wolf put the Foals 3-0 up before Manu Koné rounded off the scoreline.

Line-up

In the second friendly of the winter preparation, head coach Daniel Farke sent the following starting XI onto the field: The back four in front of goalkeeper Yann Sommer consisted of Stefan Lainer, Tony Jantschke, Ko Itakura and Luca Netz. Julian Weigl and Florian Neuhaus occupied the centre of midfield. Patrick Herrmann, Lars Stindl and Alassane Plea sat ahead of them. Nathan Ngoumou started as the lone striker. Farke then made nine changes during the break.

Squad

Borussia only had to do without Yvandro Borges Sanches (tendon irritation in the hip flexor) against the second division side due to injury. Marcus Thuram, on the other hand, was back in the squad for the first time after his return from the World Cup and subsequent holiday and came on in the second half.
