Mahmoud Dahoud will leave Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer, with the 21-year-old completing a transfer to fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, one year ahead of his contract end date.
"It was a very tough decision for Mo. It's a shame that we're losing a talent like him, but we have always managed to compensate for departures in the past," said sporting director Max Eberl.
Dahoud joined Gladbach from Fortuna Düsseldorf’s youth setup in 2010 and continued his development in the Fohlenstall. He has been a part of the first-team squad since the 2013/14 season. The midfielder has featured in 52 Bundesliga games (6 goals), 16 European fixtures (1 goal) and seven DFB-Pokal ties (0 goals) to date. He has also provided a total of 14 assists.
