Gladbach have signed Germany international Matthias Ginter from Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed Germany internationalMatthias Ginter from Borussia Dortmund. The World Cup winner signed his contract at Gladbach after successfully passing a medical.
"We've managed to get a top player for Borussia and someone who we've been after for a long time," said sporting director Max Eberl. "Matthias is a World Cup and Confed Cup winner, has played in the Champions League and has played 42 times for Borussia Dortmund. He will be a key player for us and will help the younger players."
Ginter began his career as a youth player as SC Freiburg. He made his Bundesliga debut for the club aged 18 and went on to make 81 appearances for SC Freiburg, scoring five goals. Two years later, Matthias Ginter joined Borussia Dortmund. He has made 102 appearances for Dortmund in three seasons, scoring four goals and winning the DFB Cup and the German Super Cup. Ginter became a World Champion with Germany at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The 23-year old has 14 international caps. He also won a silver medal with Germany at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last summer.
