Borussia beat Dutch first division side VVV Venlo 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon in a training match held behind closed doors. Jonas Hofmann scored a brace, whilst Raúl Bobadilla, Julio Villalba and Mickaël Cuisance also got their names on the scoresheet.
Borussia took the game to Venlo and their storming start paid off after just seven minutes when Raúl Bobadilla put the Fohlenelf in front. The away side hit back however with their only real chance of the game through Johnatan Opoku. However goals from Julio Villalba and Jonas Hofmann meant that the hosts went into the break with a comfortable 3-1 lead. It was Hofmann again who was on hand to strike for Dieter Hecking’s side before Mickaël Cuisance completed the rout with a fifth. László Bénes was forced off prematurely due to an injury.
Reserve goalkeeper Tobias Sippel took to the posts. At full-back were Justin Hoffmann and Marco Komenda, whilst duo Nils Rütten and Reece Oxford started at centre-back. László Bénes and Mickaël Cuisance occupied the middle of the park, with Jonas Hofmann and Fabian Johnson on the wings. Raúl Bobadilla and Julio Villalba completed the attack.
