The Fohlenelf started a new week of training with a session this morning. Josip Drmic and Mamadou Doucouré rejoined the squad after an extended spell on the sidelines.
In the first of their two training periods on Wednesday morning, the Fohlenelf completed an intensive session in the weight room. After that, they moved out onto the training pitch, where they did various passing exercises and worked on a few different game scenarios. Josip Drmic and Mamadou Doucouré both made their return to training after a long absence due to injury. “It’s great to have them back in training, but it’s important that we ease them back into the squad. They took part in a few of the drills, although they still can’t engage in any physical challenges,” said assistant coach Dirk Bremser.
Ten players away on international duty
Apart from the players missing due to injury, Dieter Hecking was also without a variety of players due to the international break.
