Reece Oxford has returned to Premier League side West Ham United. The 19-year-old defensive all-rounder had originally been loaned to Borussia for one season, but the Hammers have activated a clause to recall Oxford.
“We were informed of their decision to activate the clause and recall him this morning,” said sporting director Max Eberl. “However, we continue to be in talks with West Ham regarding Reece Oxford completing a permanent move to Borussia. It is also the player’s wish to stay at Gladbach.”
Reece Oxford signed on loan at the start of the season and has so far featured in three Bundesliga games and a DFB-Pokal tie. He had started each of the last three matches against Freiburg, HSV and Leverkusen.
