Mickaël Cuisance has been voted Borussia’s player of the month for the second time. In the vote, presented by “devolo”, the young Frenchman beat Christoph Kramer and Yann Sommer to the December award.
Approximately 4,000 Borussia fans used the official Fohlenelf app to take part in last week’s vote and the result was decisive, with Cuisance winning with an overwhelming majority. Indeed 79% of the votes were cast for the 18-year-old Frenchman, comfortably beating midfielder Christoph Kramer (14%) and Yann Sommer (7%).
Man of the match three times
The award comes as no surprise after Cuisance took the man of the match award three times in December. The fans voted for the feisty midfielder after his performances against Wolfsburg (3-0 win), Hamburg (3-1 win) and Leverkusen (1-0 defeat). The 18-year-old showcased his talent in all of these fixtures and has established himself as a key player for the Fohlenelf. Cuisance’s performances have demonstrated his strong work ethic, his wealth of ideas and tricks as well as how dangerous he can be in front of goal. He came within inches of netting his first goal for Gladbach with a shot from distance against HSV, which rattled off the post. Yet this did not matter to the fans, who voiced their praise for Cuisance by selecting him as their player of the month for the second time, the last of which came in September.
