The Foals trained today in preparation for the away game against Werder bremen on Saturday (15:30 CET).
In mild temperatures and bright sunshine, head coach Dieter Hecking put his boys to work for about an hour and a half at the training ground. With the exception of Nico Elvedi, who was only able to do running exercises due to an ankle ligament injury he sustained in the match against Fortuna, and Julio Villalba, who trained individually as a result of a bruised shoulder bone, all players were working on the pitch.
All of them were very energetic on the training pitch – which is no surprise considering the recent jump to second place in the league and the exciting clash with Werder Bremen coming up. “We are currently performing maybe slightly better than we expected. That is both a challenge for us as well as an incentive to do well in Werder Bremen,” said Hecking. He will now bring his team together three times before the away game on the Weser: today (15:30 CET) for the second training session of the day, on Thursday, in an open training session, and again on Friday (15:30 CET), which will be the final training session of the week.
