After getting the afternoon off yesterday, die Fohlen were back working on the training pitches in Jerez this morning. Captain Lars Stindl, Christoph Kramer and Julio Villalba all returned to full first team training.
The Borussia were able to continue their preparation for the second half of the season under optimal conditions: the weather conditions for their fourth day of their training camp in Southern Spain consisted of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. However, the Borussia players worked up a sweat as they completed their 90 minute training session this morning.
Stindl: “I feel good”
Although Thorgan Hazard (ankle injury) and Ibrahima Traoré (reduced workload) trained individually, Christoph Kramer, Julio Villalba and captain Lars Stindl all returned to full first team training today. “I had to slow down a bit in the first few days. It was annoying. That’s why I’m happy to be training with the team again,” said the striker in an interview. “I feel no pain from my ankle injury now. I feel good. I'm very excited to be back in action.”
The Borussia players will have had four more training sessions behind them before their final friendly from the training camp; facing Belgian first division side Standard Liège. The game will be on Friday (17:00 CET, live on FohlenTV). Training starts again this afternoon at 16:30 CET. Dieter Hecking then has a double session organised for tomorrow, before finally travelling to Gibraltar on Friday. The final training session will be on the Friday morning before the game.
