We gathered the reaction from the players and coaches after Borussia’s 1-0 win away at Hannover.
Christoph Kramer: It’s a massive three points. You can talk about how a team performs as much as you want, but at the end of the day it’s the results that matter. That’s why it was crucial that we won today. We had enough chances and shouldn’t have needed a deflected shot to get us the win, but we’ll happily take it. It does us the world of good. I just hope that it hasn’t come at a price and hope that Lars is okay. Fingers crossed that it’s not a serious injury.
Florian Neuhaus: It was a really tough away game. Hannover played well and defended resolutely. If we had taken our chances in the first half though, it would have been a very different game. Nevertheless, I’m just happy to have gotten the three points today. Now we’re hoping that Lars’ injury isn’t a bad one and that he can help us in the final games.
Tobias Strobl: The game started with a real shock – losing your captain like that after less than a minute is tough to take and we needed a while to get into the game. We soon created some good chances though and deservedly took the lead after the break. We should have wrapped up the win though and it ended up being nervy. If we show the same commitment and passion in the final five games that we did today and against Bremen last week, then I think we can achieve something great.
Dieter Hecking: We made life unnecessarily difficult for ourselves today. The game was fairly even in the opening stages, but we soon started having all the chances. We were missing the clinical edge in front of goal once more though. Fortunately, we managed to score one after the break and I think the win is deserved based on the number of chances we had. Now we need to wait and see what the news is with Lars. We’re obviously hoping that it’s not as bad as it first seemed.
Hannover coach Thomas Doll: The boys put in a good performance but again haven’t been rewarded for it. We just can’t do any more than that right now, we have to be honest with ourselves. I can’t criticise the players; they gave it their all and created some good chances, but it just isn’t enough to win games. We were well position for their goal, but luck isn’t on our side right now and we leave empty-handed once again.
