On Tuesday afternoon, Borussia started their preparations for Saturday’s away trip to face 1. FC Nürnberg (kick off 15:30 CEST). Patrick Herrman, Tony Jantschke and Tobias Strobl did not take part.
The Foals began preparations for their final away match of the season with a 90 minute training session. 22 players took part, including three goalkeepers. In addition to Lars Stindl (fractured tibia) and Raffael (calf strain), three of last Saturday’s starting XI did not take part – Tobias Strobl, Patrick Herrmann and Tony Jantschke. “With Tobi it was precautionary, and he will train tomorrow,” explained assistant coach Dirk Bremser. Herrmann came off during the game against Hoffenheim due to a hamstring problem, whilst Jantschke took a knock to the knee during the game.
“The team showed resilience against Hoffenheim. We can and will take that into the game against Nürnberg,” said Bremser. The Foals’ assistant coach expects a “great atmosphere in front of a great crowd. Nürnberg will want to make the most of their final chance. However, we will also be giving it everything.” The Foals will train three more times before Saturday’s clash. On Wednesday and Friday, training will be private, whereas Thursday’s session will take place at 10:00 CEST.
