The Foals began their final week of training of the Bundesliga season on Tuesday afternoon. There’s a lot of excitement for the Borussia Dortmund game this Saturday (15:30 CEST).
There are just four days until the end of the season, with just one game, against Borussia Dortmund, still to come. “It will be an intense and exciting end to the season, and I’m massively looking forward to it,” said Yann Sommer. “Everyone knows what’s at stake. We’ve given ourselves a good starting position and we’ll give everything to finish the season off successfully on Saturday.” Jonas Hofmann agreed: “Getting fourth place is in our own hands. It’s about throwing everythingat it and finishing our season well over the 90 minutes.”
Johnson back in training
Borussia began preparations for the Dortmund game with a 90-minute training session on Tuesday afternoon. Lars Stindl (shin), Raffael (calf), and Patrick Herrmann (thigh) all trained individually. It’s possible that Flaco will return to training with the rest of the team tomorrow. Fabian Johnson returned to training today after a calf strain. Jordan Beyer, Oscar Wendt, Denis Zakaria, Josip Drmic and Ibrahima Traoré only did some running.
Two closed training sessions
All five players will train with the rest of the team tomorrow. Dieter Hecking’s side will complete closed training sessions tomorrow and on Friday. Training on Thursday is at 10:00 CEST and is open to fans. Following the game against Dortmund on Saturday (15:30 CEST), the team will travel from Frankfurt to China.
