Matthias Ginter and Germany picked up a victory in their Euro qualifier. Yann Sommer and four other Swiss players are to play today in the UEFA Nations League.
The Germany national team won their second UEFA Euro qualifier of 2020. They picked up a 2-0 victory in Belarus, despite the absence of their head coach Joachim Löw. Matthias Ginter was in the starting XI, in a back three next to Bayern’s Niklas Süle and Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.
Assist in 2-0 victory
In his 25th appearance for Germany, the Borussia player put in a good performance. Just before the 15 minute mark, Leroy Sané took the lead for Germany. Ginter & Co. remained solid at the back and just after the hour mark, Ginter played a superb ball to Marco Reus, and the ex-Borussia player made it 2-0. “The victory was clear to see,” said assistant coach Marcus Sorg. “On the whole, the performance was satisfactory.”
On Tuesday (20:45 CEST), Germany will play their final game of the season in Mainz against Estonia, another important UEFA Euro qualifier in Group C.
