Florian Neuhaus was in the starting XI for Germany’s game against Austria as Germany qualified for the semi-finals. Andreas Poulsen and Denmark knocked out.
With Germany’s 1-1 draw with Austria, Florian Neuhaus not only got through to the final four of the competition, but also qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Luca Waldschmidt scored the opening goal in the 14th minute before Kevin Danso equalised from the spot ten minutes later. Neuhaus started his second game of the tournament and was subbed off in the 56th minute. On Thursday evening (21:00), Germany will play their semi-final against France or Romania.
No appearance for Poulsen
Andreas Poulsen and Denmark U21 have been knocked out of the U21 Euros, with Poulsen not making any appearances. The Danes lost 3-1 to Germany, beat Austria 3-1 before their final game. The Borussia left-back watched on from the bench as Jacob Bruun Larsen (21’) and Jacob Rasmussen (51’) scored to beat Serbia 2-0. Although the Scandinavians ended the group stages with six points, only the best second placed team can go through to the semi-finals (Italy have a better goal difference).
