Rose: "We need to give it our all"
Chefcoach Marco Rose

Borussia’s head coach Marco Rose spoke to the press ahead of Sunday’s Bundesliga clash with Werder Bremen about...

...the last- minute winner against Roma: We said before the game that we wanted to make it a special evening for the fans, and we did that in the end. Hopefully the late winner will give us some momentum ahead of the upcoming match against Bremen. It was an important victory; nothing more, nothing less. Now we are back in Bundesliga action on Sunday and we need to be completely focused for the game.

...the things that the team can improve on: We know there are always things that we can improve on. Against Roma we struggled to score the second goal. Afterwards, there was a period of play in which we made too many silly mistakes. We gave the ball away too many times and struggled to create anything. We should have made better decisions in the final third throughout the entire match. But we also need to remember who we were up against, so there are certainly positives to take from it.

...the tactical approach to the game against Bremen: The boys need to recover in time for Sunday and then give it their all once again. Although the team may be a little bit tired after having so many matches in the past few weeks, we will not change our tactics. We want to play our game, however we need to be smart and to adapt during the match.

...the upcoming opponent: Bremen have a strong team, but you can say that about every Bundesliga side. It’s a difficult game. Werder defend strongly and attack with pace. They have thrown away a lead twice in their past two home matches, but also picked up a point away at Dortmund and Leverkusen so it won’t be easy.

...the squad: Tony Jantschke is out with a torn muscle but Alassane Plea is available again. As for the rest of the squad we have a few players slowly coming back to fitness; some of who have already had some minutes. We need to be careful with how we use them because they are all completing their rehabilitation. Nevertheless we will have a strong team on the pitch on Sunday.
