The training week for the Foals began on Monday with a 90 minute session ahead of their first game back away to FC Schalke 04.
The Foals are back at BORUSSIA-PARK. After the week long training camp in Jerez de la Frontera, Marco Rose’s side took to their home training pitch once more in a session which lasted around 90 minutes and consisted of a game played on a smaller sized pitch. Charalambos Makridis and famana Quizera from the U23s and U19s also joined up with the first team for this particular session, Oscar Wendt trained individually. Ramy Bensebaini also ended the session early, just as a precaution. “Today it was about starting off the week right, but from tomorrow we’ll start properly preparing for the game against Schalke,” said Rose.
“The anticipation is huge”
The Foals will kick off the Rückrunde on Friday night with a game at FC Schalke 04. “The winter break was a short one, but it hasn’t stopped the anticipation ahead of this game,” said Breel Embolo, for whom the game will be a visit to his club. “Of course it’s a special game for me. I know a lot of the players in their current squad very well and I’m good friends with many of them. But at the end of the day it’s a big game for us and we want to win – we’re really looking forward to it.
