The game on Sunday between Borussia and 1. FC Cologne has been cancelled due to safety concerns as Storm Sabine reaches Germany.
In the run-up to and for the duration of the game, the meteorologists of the German Weather Service (DWD) are not yet expecting a storm in Mönchengladbach, but shortly after the final whistle, Storm “Sabine” should move through the region and reach its climax at night. As a safe departure of the fans cannot be guaranteed, Borussia has decided in close consultation with the city of Mönchengladbach, the fire brigade, the police and the German Football League (DFL) to cancel the game. The decision was made early Sunday morning after analysing the last weather forecast. A new date for the game is not yet known but the DFL will inform the clubs about the new game in the course of the next week. Tickets remain valid. Fans who do not have the opportunity to visit the game on the catch-up date can legally offer their ticket for resale via Borussia's official secondary market platform.
