Tony Jantschke to retire from professional football
Tony Jantschke will hang up his boots at the end of the current season. The 34-year-old, who first joined Gladbach in 2006, will remain at the club in a non-playing capacity.
The defender’s results came back positive following yesterday’s round of testing. All players, coaches and medical staff were tested as planned, with Beyer having the only positive result.
Beyer, who along with everyone else had tested negative earlier this week, was not in the 20-man squad for the first two matches of the season due to injury. He will now quarantine at home. After consulting with health authorities, no further players or members of staff will have to go into quarantine. Tomorrow’s Bundesliga match against Union Berlin is not set to be affected by this in any way.
