- This will be the 105th Bundesliga meeting between Borussia and FC Bayern München. The head-to-head record is in Bayern’s favour, with 50 wins to 25 for Borussia. This fixture has ended in a draw on 29 occasions.
- In the last three years, the Foals have beaten Bayern in every meeting in the first half of the season, and gone on to lose every meeting in the second half of the season.

- Robert Lewandowski has scored 19 goals this Bundesliga season. The only other player to net as often after 14 matchdays was Gerd Müller (20 in 1968/69, 19 in 1976/77). However, Lewandowski has scored just four goals in 16 meetings with Mönchengladbach.
