Borussia eSports partner up with Fortnite creator Epic Games

Borussia eSports have partnered for the first with Epic, one of the world’s largest games companies, in order to take part in the latest promotion for the game Fortnite.

Borussia eSports are partnering with Epic Games alongside 22 other football clubs from around the world, including Manchester City, AC and Inter Milan and Juventus, as well as VfL Wolfsburg and Schalke 04 from the Bundesliga. This is part of the promotion of the video game Fortnite. All Fortnite gamers will now be able to purchase an in-game skin with the Foals' design on it.

This partnership is with Epic is not part of a permanent eSports commitment, for example in the form of a dedicated Fortnite eSports team. This is instead designed to tap into new target groups to raise the profile of Borussia eSports in the already rapidly growing gaming scene and increasing potential for attracting new partners.

On Tuesday at 18:45 CET, Borussia eSports will be taking part in a charity stream along with one of Germany's biggest Fortnite streamers, “Amar”. Taking part are Borussia players Stefan Lainer and Valentino Lazaro as well as eSports players Yannick Reiners aka “Jeffryy” and Eleftherios Ilas aka “Lefti”. The representatives from Mönchengladbach will compete with players from Wolfsburg in numerous mini-games from Fortnite. The proceeds from the charity stream will go in part to the Borussia Foundation. The money will be used to support future projects that deal with addiction prevention in gaming and other areas. The stream will be available at www.twitch.tv/amar.
