Bensebaini and Algeria top AFCON qualifying group

Ramy Bensebaini and Algeria won 5-0 against Botswana in their final AFCON qualifying match. The left-back played the full 90 minutes.

Algeria were guaranteed to finish in the top two of Group H after last week's 3-3 draw in Zambia. A 5-0 win over Botswana in their final qualifying match on Monday evening has ensured that Algeria have booked their tickets to the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022, finishing top of the group.

Borussia's Ramy Bensebaini (Photo: imago images/MB Media Solutions) did not travel with the team to Zambia, as he would have had to quarantine afterwards. Bensebaini did, however, feature against Botswana, playing the full 90 minutes. Mehdi Zeffane (24'), Sofiane Feghouli (58'), Riyad Mahrez (64'), Baghdad Bounedjah (72') and Farid Boulaya (88') all got on the scoresheet for Algeria.
