Stindl misses out, Elvedi and Hofmann return

The Foals began a new week of training on Tuesday morning without injured captain Lars Stindl.

Just six games of the Bundesliga season remain with the final matchday taking place on 22 May. With seven points from the last three games, the Foals are still alive in the fight for the European places. "Our aim is the same and there are fewer and fewer games to achieve it every week. That, and nothing else, is what we’re focusing on," said head coach Marco Rose.

At the moment, Borussia are concentrating on the imminent home game against Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday 15:30 CEST). Captain Lars Stindl could miss the game against the Eagles, who are pushing for a place in next season’s Champions League. Borussia’s top goalscorer is currently out with a muscle injury.

Meanwhile, Jonas Hofmann, who has completed his quarantine since testing positive for coronavirus, is back in team training. As is Nico Elvedi, who has recovered from his calf problems. There are still three sessions to go before the Foals take on Frankfurt this Saturday; on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All sessions will continue to be held behind closed doors.
