Foals begin the week with a lactate test

Borussia began the new training week with a lactate test on Wednesday.

The 2020/21 season is coming to an end. Before Borussia play their final three games against FC Bayern (8th May, 18:30 CEST), VfB Stuttgart (15th May, 15:30 CEST) and Werder Bremen (22nd May, 15:30 CEST), they have this weekend off to prepare. “Despite the break, we don’t want to rest too much, so that we are sharp enough for the final three games,” said head coach Marco Rose.

The Foals began the new training week with a lactate test on Wednesday. Blood samples were taken after some running in order to determine the players’ current fitness levels and capabilities. “I’m not a big fan of running on a treadmill, but it’s just something you’ve got to do. It’s a way of working on ourselves still,” said right-back Stefan Lainer in an interview. Captain Lars Stindl, Julio Villalba and Torben Mübel continued their rehabilitation training instead, while Mamadou Doucouré will be out for the foreseeable future after tearing his Achilles tendon in training.
