Sebastian Lletget put the USA in front in the fifth minute, before Ricardo Rodriguez equalised five minutes later with a penalty. By the break, Sommer had already denied the away side on three occasions. Elvedi was substituted at halftime, while Embolo was also taken off in the 68th minute. The attacker had missed two chances to give his side the lead. Steven Zuber eventually scored what was the winning goal (63') to make it 2-1 and put Switzerland in line for a fourth consecutive win. "We are on the right track in terms of results. The trend is positive," said the head coach Vladimir Petkovic. In the second and final friendly before the European Championship, Switzerland will face Liechtenstein, again in St. Gallen, on Thursday (18:00 CEST).
