Stindl out of action with knee ligament strain

The Foals will be without Lars Stindl for the remainder of their time at the Harsewinkel-Marienfeld training camp, after the captain sustained a knee ligament strain.  

Lars Stindl, who will continue to captain Borussia during the 2021/22 season, has strained a ligament in his knee, as diagnosed following an MRI scan on Tuesday. The 32-year-old will therefore be sitting out the team training sessions at the camp in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld. Stindl will also miss this Saturday’s friendly against FC Metz, but will start returning to normal training over the course of the following week.

Borussia host Bayern in the DFB-Pokal second round

Borussia will be at home against FC Bayern München in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. The draw was completed on Sunday evening and the fixtures will be played on the 26th and 27th October.

Borussia suffered a 2-1 defeat at Union Berlin on Bundesliga matchday 3. Two first-half goals put the Berliners on course for victory, with Jonas Hofmann getting one back for the Foals in injury time.
