Hofmann voted Player of the Month for November

Borussia fans have voted Jonas Hofmann their Player of the Month for November. The 29-year-old won the award presented by Cichon Personalmanagement ahead of three of his teammates.

Jonas Hofmann came out of the vote for November’s Player of the Month the clear winner, with 71% of voters picking the German international. Yann Sommer (22%), Ramy Bensebaini (6%) and Alassane Plea (1%) were the other nominees.

Hofmann is practically unstoppable at the moment, scoring twice in the 4-0 win over Greuther Fürth. In the ninth minute, he went through on goal after a one-two with Lars Stindl on the right, and put the ball beyond Marius Funk in the Fürth goal. Hofmann was also on hand to finish things off in the 57th minute. Stindl won the ball back in midfield and started a counter attack, playing it into Hofmann at the perfect moment for him to finish emphatically past Funk. In the derby, the 29-year-old made it 1-1 with his seventh goal of the season, already breaking his record goals tally for a Bundesliga season.

The voting criteria for our Player of the Month award has changed this season. In previous years, fans were only able to select from players that had won at least one Man of the Match award during the preceding month. This season, fans will have the option of also voting for players that impressed during the previous month, either with their performances or through other actions.

2021/22 Players of the Month:

  • August: Joe Scally
  • September: Denis Zakaria
  • October: Breel Embolo
  • November: Jonas Hofmann
Jonas Hofmann's second goal in the 4-0 win over Fürth capped off a great victory.
