Hofmann to miss Borussia’s final two matches of 2021

Jonas Hofmann will be unavailable for the Foals for the final two league games of the calendar year to undergo knee surgery.

Jonas Hofmann cannot put off the need for knee surgery any longer, and so this procedure will take place on Tuesday. As a result, he is ruled out of Gladbach’s upcoming Bundesliga matches against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday evening (18:30 CET) and against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday (15:30 CET).

Hofmann has featured in 14 of the Foals’s 15 league matches so far in 2021/22, scoring 7 goals, the best return of any Borussia player this season. After picking up his fifth yellow card during the 4-1 defeat to RB Leipzig last Saturday, our captain Lars Stindl will also miss the game against Frankfurt on Wednesday due to suspension.
