Hofmann completes parts of team training

The Foals began their preparation for the DFB-Pokal game against Hannover (Wednesday, 18:30 CET) on Monday morning. Jonas Hofmann was able to participate in a number of drills with the team as he nears his return from arthroscopic surgery on his knee.

Jonas Hofmann is back in team training. The 29-year-old, who underwent an arthroscopic procedure in his knee in December, was able to participate in training on Monday and completed a number od sessions with the rest of the team. Mamadou Doucouré was also present for parts of today’s relaxed team training session.

In Tony Jantschke, Jordan Beyer, Breel Embolo and Manu Koné, a number of Foals began the week with a regenerative session or did not head out onto the training pitch as a result of injuries. While Marcus Thuram completed a running programme, Denis Zakaria worked individually after missing Saturday’s Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen with a hip injury. Christoph Kramer missed out again through illness, while Ramy Bensebaini is on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

The Foals began preparations ahead of the midweek trip to take on Hannover 96 in the DFB-Pokal.
