Hannes Wolf joins Swansea City on loan

Borussia Mönchengladbach have loaned Hannes Wolf for the remainder of the 2021/22 season to Swansea City in the Championship.

Hannes Wolf has joined Swansea City on loan until the end of the season. The 22-year-old’s contract at Borussia is due to run until June 2024. “Hannes needs more minutes than we can offer him right now for his development. This agreement with Swansea City makes sense for both him and us. We would like to wish him all the best in English football for the next few months,” said Borussia sporting director Max Eberl.

Wolf initially joined Borussia on loan from RB Leipzig in summer 2020, featuring 43 times in all competitions in his first season here. He scored three goals in 32 Bundesliga matches, played seven times in the UEFA Champions League (no goals) and netted once in four DFB-Pokal fixtures. The Foals then signed the Austrian on a permanent deal at the start of the current season. However, Wolf only featured in seven Bundesliga matches and in one DFB-Pokal clash this term. His last appearance came on 31st October 2021 in the 2-1 win over VfL Bochum.

Good luck in Wales, Hannes!
