Foals to return to Tegernsee for summer training camp

Borussia will undergo a summer training camp in Rottach-Egern between the 3rd and 10th July this year. The Bavarian town on Lake Tegernsee was the location for each of the Foals’ pre-season summer camps from 2012 to 2019.

With the 2022/23 season is just around the corner, Borussia have announced that they will once again prepare for the new campaign in Tegernsee this summer. In the past two years, the club had held their pre-season camp in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld due to the coronavirus pandemic, but this summer sees a return to Rottach-Egern. The team will spend a week there, between Sunday 3rd July and Sunday 10th July 2022 as they prepare for the new season in the same location that they did from 2012 to 2019. The team hotel will once again be the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt.

“We are delighted to be holding our training camp in Rottach-Egern for the ninth time this year. We are bringing back a fond tradition that we were forced to interrupt due to the pandemic," said sporting director Roland Virkus. "We know that optimal conditions await us at Tegernsee and are looking forward to meeting a few Borussia fans there again.”

Those in the local area are also looking forward to the Foals' return to Tegernsee. “Rottach-Egern and the Tegernseer Tal are looking forward to welcoming Borussia and their many loyal fans back to Tegernsee this year,” said Christian Köck, mayor of Rottach-Egern. Meanwhile, Vincent Ludwig, managing director of Seehotel Überfahrt, said: “After Borussia were unable to come in each of the past two years due to the pandemic, we are even more delighted that they will be holding their training camp with us again this year.”
