Scally makes his debut for the United States

Joe Scally was handed his first cap for the US national team during the night on Thursday. Borussia’s full-back came on at half-time during their 3-0 friendly win over Morocco.

Scally made his debut for his country aged just 19, coming off the bench for the second half in Cincinnati against Morocco, replacing Antonee Robinson. The US were already 2-0 up at this point thanks to goals from Brenden Aaronson (12’) and Timothy Weah (32’). Former Bundesliga player Haji Wright added a third in the second period from the spot (64’).

Scally could win his second cap on Sunday (23:00 CEST) in another friendly against Uruguay in Kansas City. Following this game, the US will play Grenada (11th June) and El Salvador (15th June) in CONCACAF Nations League fixtures.
