Jonas Kersken to leave Borussia on permanent basis
Goalkeeper Jonas Kersken has agreed terms on a permanent transfer to Arminia Bielefeld, where he has spent the 2023/24 season on loan.
Luca Netz and the Germany U21s have successfully qualified for the U21 EUROs after a 4-0 win against Hungary in their penultimate group stage game. Meanwhile, in the Nations League, Austria’s Stefan Lainer and Hannes Wolf celebrated a 3-0 win against Croatia.

The team celebrated a 4-0 win against Hungary on the penultimate matchday in Group B and have qualified for the tournament. Netz played the full 90 minutes at left-back. Youssoufa Moukoko (17’), Jonathan Burkardt (pen., 31’), Tom Krauß (76‘) and Lazar Samardzic (90’+3) all got on the scoresheet. The team will close out the group stage against Poland U21s on Tuesday (18:00 CEST).
45 minutes for Lainer
Austria opened their Nations League campaign with a 3-0 win against Croatia, in their first game under new head coach Ralf Rangnick. Wolf, who was on loan at Swansea in the second half of the 2021/22 season, was an unused substitute. Lainer was taken off at half-time, having started at right wing-back. Marko Arnautovic (41’), Michael Gregoritsch (54’) and Marcel Sabitzer (57’) scored for Austria. Next up, they will face Denmark in Vienna on Monday evening (20:45 CEST).
Noß on the bench
Conor Noß was an unused subsitute as the Ireland U21s took on Bosnia and Herzegovina U21s in a U21 EURO qualifier. William Smallbone (16’, 81’) and Ademipo Odubeko (63’) scored in a 3-0 win for the hosts in Dublin. On Monday (18:00 CEST), Ireland will host the Montenegro U21s.
