Beyer: “Ready to get started!”

Anyone walking by BORUSSIA-PARK today would have been able to observe Jordan Beyer taking part in an individual training session on Monday. The defender revealed why he was the first to return to the training pitch in a short interview with borussia.de.

Jordan, you picked up a knock towards the end of last season. Is that the reason why you’re already back, or do you just enjoy being the first one?

Beyer: It’s a bit of both. My injury wasn’t anything serious, but we decided that I would return from holiday a bit earlier in order to be 100% ready for the new season. I’m feeling pain-free now, and am ready to get started.

A new season represents a new chance. Is that also true for Borussia?

Beyer: We are coming off a tough season, having managed to bring it to a decent end. Of course, we also failed to meet the goals we had set for ourselves and finishing tenth wasn’t what we had set out to do. We are now looking to tackle the new season with a fresh mindset and enthusiasm. The new coaching staff also provide us with new momentum. We are looking forward to the challenge and want to prove that we can do better than we did last season.

What personal goals have you set for the season?

Beyer: I hope that I will remain injury-free this season, and that I can play more games than in 2021/22. It’s also about forming a good relationship with the coaching staff. I’m just taking things as they come and am looking forward to the new season.
