Patrick Herrmann to retire from playing in the summer
Patrick Herrmann will retire from playing in the summer after 16 years at Borussia, including 15 as a member of the first team. The 33-year-old will remain at Gladbach in a non-playing capacity.
Famana Quizera joins Academico Viseu
Attacker Famana Quizera has left Borussia to join Portuguese second-division side Academico Viseu.
Famana Quizera will return to his home nation, with the 20-year-old securing a move to Portuguese second-tier side Academico Viseu following his loan spell with them last season. Academico initially passed on a buy option for Quizera, but the clubs have now agreed an undisclosed transfer fee.
Quizera joined Borussia in summer 2018 from Benfica’s youth setup. He made nine U17 Bundesliga (11 goals), 13 U19 Bundesliga (4 goals) and 30 Regionalliga appearances (4 goals) for the club’s youth and U23s teams. Quizera was in the first-team matchday squad on seven occasions but didn’t make a professional appearance. He spent last season on loan at Academico Viseu, scoring six goals in 26 games.
