Borussia sign Nathan Ngoumou from Toulouse

Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed the signing of 22-year-old winger Nathan Ngoumou. The France U21 international joins from Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC and has signed a five-year contract until 30th June 2027.

“Nathan is a young, talented player with huge potential,” said Borussia sporting director Roland Virkus. His dynamism and speed are important elements for how we want to play, so we’re absolutely thrilled that he has decided to join us.”

Ngoumou played alongside Manu Koné for several years at Toulouse, where he worked his way through the youth academy to make his professional debut in Ligue 1 on the final matchday of the 2018/19 season as a 19-year-old. He made four competitive appearances in the following campaign, one that ended in relegation to the French second tier.

The 2020/21 season resulted in nine league appearances, (2 goals), three play-offs games and four matches in the Coupe de France (1 goal). Ngoumou established himself as a first-team regular last term, with the right winger scoring eight goals across 35 second-division matches and two cup ties, playing a pivotal role in the club’s promotion back to the top flight.

Borussia’s new number 19 has also respresented his nation twelve times at youth level, featuring five times at U19s level (1 goal) and has so far played seven games for the France U21s.
