Jordan Beyer joins Burnley on loan

Borussia Mönchengladbach have loaned defender Jordan Beyer to Championship side Burnley for the remainder of the season.

“Jordan expressed his desire to go somewhere else this season in order to get match practice,” said sporting director Roland Virkus. “We wish Jordan all the best for a successful spell at Burnley.”

The 22-year-old was born in Kempen, located just 20 kilometres from Mönchengladbach. He began playing for his hometown club, SV Thomasstadt Kempen before joining Fortuna Düsseldorf’s academy in 2012. He moved to Borussia’s academy in 2015/16, and went on to make his way through the ranks from the U16s onwards.

His professional debut came in the 11-1 win against BSC Hastedt in the first round of the DFB-Pokal on 19th August 2018. A week later, he made his Bundesliga debut in a 2-0 win against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He has since gone on to make 36 top-flight and three DFB-Pokal appearances for the Foals. In 2019/20, he also featured in 11 matches in Bundesliga 2 during a loan spell at Hamburger SV.

Jordan Beyer has been with Gladbach since he was a youngster.
