Algeria and Ramy Bensebaini suffered a 2-0 defeat in Sweden in their final game of 2022. Borussia’s left-back returned to their starting XI, but was sent off in the 34th minute for a second yellow card. Emil Forsberg put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot in added time at the end of the first half and then Viktor Claesson sealed the win in the second half (47’).

GERMANY U21s

Germany U21s won 4-2 away against Italy in Ancona. Borussia’s left-back Luca Netz and Jordan Beyer, currently on loan at Burnley, both began on the bench. Beyer came on in the 60th minute.
