US draw 0-0 with England

The United States men’s national team drew 0-0 against England in their second group stage match at the World Cup. Joe Scally did not feature.

Joe Scally’s wait for his World Cup debut continues. The right-back, who started all 15 Bundesliga games for Borussia this season, was an unused substitute once again after having also not featured in the opening game against Wales (1-1).  The match featured few chances on goal, as the USMNT defended bravely against the runners-up from EURO 2020. The best chance of the game came as Christian Pulisic hit the crossbar in the 33rd minute.

The US will need to beat Iran in their final group stage game on Tuesday evening (20:00 CET) in order to have a chance of advancing to the round of 16. England will take on Wales in the other final Group B fixture.
