Borussia sign Jonas Omlin from Montpellier

Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed the signing of Swiss goalkeeper Jonas Omlin. The 29-year-old arrives at the Foals from Montpellier HSC.

Jonas Omlin has signed a deal until 30th June 2027 and becomes the successor to his fellow Switzerland international Yann Sommer, who has left the club to join FC Bayern München. We believe we have found a very good solution by signing Jonas Omlin. He is a very reliable goalkeeper who exudes confidence, is strong on his line and is good with the ball at his feet,” said Roland Virkus.

Omlin spent his youth career in his native Switzerland with FC Luzern. After spending time with third-tier SC Kriens, second-tier FC Le Mont and first-division side FC Basel, Omlin joined HSC Montpellier in 2020. His debut season saw the goalkeeper make 31 Ligue 1 appearances. The following campaign, the goalkeeper played 29 league games, keeping 9 clean sheets. The 29-year-old appeared in 14 of a possible 19 games for Montpellier this season and kept three clean sheets. On the international stage, Omlin has represented his country on four occasions, playing in three friendlies and keeping a clean sheet in the UEFA Nations League game against Portugal.

Jonas Omlin has signed a contract at Borussia until 30th June 2027
