Tobias Sippel signs a contract extension

Borussia Mönchengladbach and Tobias Sippel have agreed on a contract extension until 2024.

Goalkeeper Tobias Sippel will remain with the club next season. The club has extended his contract by a further year until 2024. “Tobi has experienced a lot in his eight years at Borussia and has always been a reliable number two. He’s always been there when he’s been needed,” said sporting director Roland Virkus. “His role has changed a little bit now, but he remains an important member of our squad, both on and off the pitch.”

Sippel moved to the Foals for the 2015/16 season from 1. FC Kaiserslautern. He made his debut in a 2-0 home win over VfL Wolfsburg on 3rd October 2015. Overall, Sippel has played 25 competitive games for the club, with 18 of those coming in the Bundesliga and the other seven in the DFB-Pokal. He kept a clean sheet in eight of these matches. “I’m really happy to be staying at Borussia and I’m looking forward to the future challenges,” commented the 35-year-old.
